One of the weaknesses of e-commerce logistics is problems with reverse logistics, i.e. after-sales service, acceptance of used goods, their processing, recycling, and return of goods by the buyer. The percentage of returns in e-commerce reaches 40-50%, which significantly increases the cost of online store logistics. Therefore, a necessary component of increasing the competitiveness of an online store is the formation of reverse logistics.
E-commerce logistics is the use of web technologies to support the processes of purchasing, warehousing, and transporting goods, where routing optimization and inventory tracking information are combined at the level of distribution of logistics flows in e-commerce. As a result, a single online platform is created that brings together both sellers and buyers, as well as logistics operators, allowing for the interactive exchange of information on the movement of material flows. Among the current trends in the use of logistics in e-commerce are the following: the introduction of augmented reality into the supply chain; the use of artificial intelligence elements in the development of logistics systems; and the formation of a networked multichannel logistics infrastructure.
