Ukraine will receive 76 million euros from the EU for the construction of the first Eurotrack

The European Union allocated a grant of 76 million euros to Ukraine for the construction of the first full-fledged section of the railway of the European standard (1435 mm wide). The new track will be laid between Sknylev (Lviv) and Mostyska II on the Polish border, Landlord reports.

This project will become an important part of Ukrainian integration railway network to the European transport system. As Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction Oleksiy Kuleba said, the funds are provided by the EU program Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), which supports strategic infrastructure initiatives.

The new Eurotrack with a length of about 70 km will allow to create a direct railway connection between Ukraine and EU countries without the need for cargo transshipment or replacement of trolleys. This will significantly simplify and speed up cargo transportation, reduce logistics costs and improve conditions for Ukrainian exporters.

The new railway branch will be especially important for agricultural a sector that needs efficient transport routes to export products to European markets.

The project will be implemented within the framework of the development of the European transport network TEN-T, which will allow Ukraine to become a full-fledged part of common European logistics.
