Another checkpoint on the border with Poland will appear in Lviv region

Starting December 20, 2024, a new automobile checkpoint “Nyzhankovychi – Malkhovychi plans to open a new automobile checkpoint “Nyzhankovychi – Malkhovychi,” Landlord reports, citing Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal. It will be open for both passenger and freight traffic. Pedestrian traffic will begin after the necessary infrastructure is completed.
The opening of the new checkpoint will significantly reduce the load on the existing crossings and will also contribute to the development of Ukrainian exports, the official said.
The Nyzhankovychi – Malkhovychi checkpoint will be jointly controlled by Ukrainian and Polish customs officers and border guards, similar to the way it works at the Hrushev checkpoint. It is worth noting that the checkpoint has already started passing trucks with a maximum weight of 7.5 tons in February 2023, but is currently operating in a special temporary crossing mode, allowing traffic only for large trucks without cargo.
The repair of the road to the checkpoint was completed in April 2023, and now this important transport hub will become a significant element for the development of border infrastructure.
