“eQueue” for empty trucks: innovation at checkpoints

The Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine is introducing a new queue format for empty trucks in the eChezha system. Starting March 11, drivers of trucks weighing more than 7.5 tons will be able to register in a separate queue at five key checkpoints, which will reduce waiting time and avoid traffic jams. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Regional Development, Landlord reports.

At which checkpoints will the innovation be implemented?

  • Uzhhorod-Vysne Nemecke (on the border with Slovakia);
  • Krakivets-Korchova (on the border with Poland);
  • Shehyny-Medyka (on the border with Poland);
  • Rava-Ruska – Hrebenne (on the border with Poland);
  • Chop-Zahony (on the border with Hungary).

The launch of the new phase began on March 11 with the opening of the Uzhhorod-Vysne Nemecke checkpoint. On March 18, the recording will be launched at the Krakivets-Korchova, Shehyni-Medica, and Rava-Ruska-Hrebenne checkpoints.
March 25 – the new queue format will be launched at Chop-Zahony.
The queues for empty trucks will be marked accordingly in the “eCheck” system. For example, for the Chop-Zahony checkpoint, the queue will be called: “Chop-Zahony (for empty trucks over 7.5 tons)”. This will allow drivers to easily navigate and choose the right type of queue.

Trucks transporting goods with special storage conditions or picking up cargo shortly before crossing the border should register in the queue for loaded trucks. This is because the eCheck system verifies the cargo code, and the queue will be saved only for loaded vehicles.
If an empty truck is registered in the queue for empty trucks and a customs declaration for the cargo is subsequently found, the queue will be automatically canceled. This will avoid abuse and ensure fair distribution of queues.
Earlier it was reported that the eCheck system would be scaled up to all trucks of licensed carriers during March. The innovation for empty trucks is part of this process and aims to further improve logistics at the border.

The introduction of a separate queue for empty trucks will allow to

  • reduce waiting time at the border for loaded trucks;
  • avoid congestion and increase the efficiency of checkpoints;
  • ensure a more transparent and fair distribution of queues.

This innovation is an important step in the development of Ukraine’s transport infrastructure and will help improve conditions for international transportation.
