Agricultural exports decreased in April

In the first three weeks of April 2025, the volume of exports of Ukrainian agricultural products by road decreased by 10.4% to 198.6 thousand tons. The largest drop was recorded at the Slovak (-24.1%) and Romanian (-13.4%) borders, while the Hungarian direction showed the smallest decline – only 3.1%. The main products are sunflower oil (20.7 thousand tons) and sugar (17.3 thousand tons), but their exports also decreased. This is reported by analysts of Spike Brokers, Landlord writes.
Experts attribute the decline in volumes to the seasonal factor and changes in logistics flows. After active exports in March, some of the goods are now being redirected to sea routes, which somewhat reduces the load on vehicles. However, the difficulty of crossing the borders, especially due to queues and administrative restrictions in Romania and Slovakia, also has a significant impact.
In Ukraine, rates remained unchanged ($21-41 per tonne, depending on the route). In Europe, there was a slight decrease of 1-2 €/t.
